Early Ordering

Posted 02 November 2009

We all know what a busy and hectic world we live in and we don’t always have the time to do things when we want, but can I tell you how by placing your order early with Bako can have many benefits for both Bako and you the customer.

By placing your orders for example on a Monday for Wednesday delivery will afford us ample time to plan your load in a more effective manner, ensuring we utilise the vehicle to it’s maximum potential and the route for that load is the shortest possible, thus saving fuel and time.

Placing your orders in this manner also gives the warehouse operator a clearer picture of what they have to do as they have a limited amount of pallets to assemble your loads on to. At present we are assembling loads for up to 19 vehicles a day. For example on Friday 2nd October we assembled 252 ambient orders to the weight of 99,300 kilograms, these orders ranged from 1 kg to 10,800kg. These orders came in at varying times over the day and some orders had to be moved to other loads to accommodate a number of late orders.

By placing your orders early, this allows the operator to assemble and build up the load in the correct sequence and in a structured manner. This should lead to fewer picking errors and less damage to products due to late orders being put on to loads out of sequence and having to be handled several times before reaching their destination. It would also benefit the driver too, as the load would come off in the correct order. This should have the benefit of cutting down the time it takes to make and check off your delivery, meaning you or your stores person can get on with other things and not be hanging around while the driver sorts out the orders on the back of the vehicle.

Any efforts you can make to help us with this request would be greatly appreciated.
